Cardiac Rehabilitation
Pulaski Memorial Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation
PMH Cardiac Rehabilitation is an outpatient hospital-based program specifically designed for patients who have experienced a recent cardiac event. The program staff consists of an Advanced Cardiac Life Support-trained registered nurse with a nursing assistant who works with each participant’s primary care provider to develop individualized exercise plans to improve cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility.
During a session our staff monitors each participant’s blood pressure, heart rate, and the heart’s response to activity. In addition to exercise, educational information is offered with topics such as risk factor reduction for heart disease, eating for a healthier heart, the benefits of exercise and stress management.
