Christine Knapp, LCSW
Behavioral Health Therapist
Christine Knapp, LCSW, is a Behavioral Health Therapist at PMH who sees patients ages 12 and up. She has been with the Integrated Behavioral Health Program since 2022.
Chris grew up in Plymouth and then spent most of her professional career working in Illinois and Wisconsin. She graduated from Valparaiso University, majoring in Psychology, and then received her Master in Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Chris has over 30 years of experience in the mental health field and has developed a passion for helping people address and work through their difficult life experiences and trauma. While working in Kenosha, WI, with at-risk youth and families, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in a year-long collaborative training in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). After seeing the effectiveness and success of this treatment, Chris has continued to utilize this treatment modality, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and some components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Chris moved back to the area in 2018, where she worked in an inpatient setting for a short timeframe and then as an outpatient therapist at a community mental health agency. In her free time, Chris likes to cook, bake, enjoy some retail therapy, travel to different beach destinations, hit a good festival in Milwaukee, and spend time with family and friends.
Chris sees patients in our North Judson and Winamac Clinics. A PMH provider referral is required to schedule an appointment. For questions or to schedule an appointment, please call (574) 946-2194 and press option #4.
