Catherine Dywan, LCSW
Behavioral Health Therapist
Catherine Dywan is a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing as a behavioral health therapist since 2012.
Catherine serves as Integrated Behavioral Health Program Director for PMH’s Medical and Surgical Group.
Catherine received her undergraduate degree in early childhood-elementary education from Marian College in WI. In her short experience as a teacher, Catherine quickly learned that her heart wanted to help the children in her classroom who were struggling emotionally and behaviorally. Catherine spent a year of service with AmeriCorps in Chicago, working in a residential facility with teenagers who experienced severe trauma. In finding her new passion, Catherine received a dual Masters in Child Development from Erikson Institute and Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago.
As a therapist, Catherine has worked in community mental health and primary care. She has held director roles in which she implemented new programs and led her team to provide quality care. Catherine’s approach to therapy is patient-centered, focusing on the patient’s emotional and physical well-being to assist the patient in reaching their individualized treatment goals. Catherine treats children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her passion is working with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and parenting strategies. Her treatment modalities include Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization. Catherine continues her work as a therapist because, “I love seeing the little steps my patient’s make on their healing journey. It gives me joy to celebrate those moments with my patients.”
